Founder & Head Coach – Vidyamandir Chess Academy
I am Dhanush M, a professional chess coach and player with a deep passion for teaching and developing young minds through the game of chess.
My chess journey began at the age of 20. Through dedication and consistent effort, I earned my International Classical FIDE Rating of 1480, which marked the beginning of my professional coaching career.
I started coaching at the Karnataka School of Chess, where I worked for two years, training students of different age groups and skill levels. During the COVID period, I moved into online coaching and worked with Zugzwang Chess Academy for one year, guiding students across various locations. Later, I worked with Elite Chess Academy for one year, further strengthening my coaching experience and methodology.

In 2022, I founded Vidyamandir Chess Academy in Makali. As the academy grew, it was later relocated to Nelamangala, where it continues to flourish today.
Achievements
Under the guidance of Vidyamandir Chess Academy:
Many students have achieved their FIDE Ratings
8 students have been selected for State-Level Championships
12 students have been selected for District-Level Championships
Today, Vidyamandir Chess Academy trains students from beginners to competitive tournament players, focusing on strong fundamentals, strategic thinking, and confidence building. Our mission is to nurture disciplined, thoughtful players and help every student reach their highest potential—both on and off the chessboard.
